Notes for Clarence Benner Jr. NESBITT

Clarence B. "Cuby" Nesbitt Jr., 92, formerly of Thornton, died on Monday, November 1, 2010, at Barclay Friends. He was the husband of the late Caroline Kirk Nesbitt, who died in 1992. Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Clarence B. Nesbitt Sr. and Alberta Taylor Nesbitt. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Clarence served as a district judge and senior judge for 26 years in Thornbury and Edgmont Townships, Delaware County. He was an avid baseball player, playing in the West Chester adult league and the Eastern Shore minor league. Clarence is survived by his daughter, Madeline N. Sill and her husband Pierson of Westtown; a son, Clifford K. Nesbitt and wife Katherine of New London Twp.; three grandchildren, Scott Sill of West Chester, Heidi Sill-Caputo of Thornton and Stephanie Nesbitt Patterson of Greenville, S.C.; two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Hannah Caputo; and one sister-in-law, Anne Nesbitt of West Chester. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, at Bethlehem Methodist Church, 4 Westtown Road, Thornton, where friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5, at Founds Funeral Home, Inc., 229 South High Street, West Chester, 610-696-0134, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Interment will be in Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Barclay Friends, 700 N. Franklin Street, West Chester, PA 19380
