Notes for Robert Vinton II SMEDLEY
Robert V. 'Bob' Smedley II of Downingtown Robert V. "Bob" Smedley, II, 59, of Downingtown, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Mary Beth Shea Smedley, with whom he shared 30 years of marriage. Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Duer and Dorothy Stoudt Smedley. He was a 1970 graduate of Downingtown High School and was employed as a tool and equipment manager for Alstom Power for 35 years, retiring in 2011. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Kelly Norris and Robert V. Smedley, III and their families, who reside in South Carolina. He is also survived by his brother, Duer Smedley, Jr. and his wife, Nancie, of Tennessee; and by his uncle, Richard Stoudt and wife, Verda of Lionville. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Ann DiBenedetto. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Ave, Downingtown, where family and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be private.
