Age 82, of Georgetown, MD died peacefully after a long illness on Tuesday, June 29, 2010.
Joanne was born on June 13, 1928 in Boston, MA to the late Stanley L. & Ruth F. Smith.
She is survived by her husband Samuel F. du Pont of Georgetown, MD; daughter, Diane du Pont Beck of Georgetown, MD; son, Richard Eric du Pont of Georgetown, MD; grandchildren, Jennifer Beck Wiesnegger of Warwick, MD, Ernest E. Beck III of Georgetown, MD and Richard S. du Pont of Bailey, NC; great grandchildren, Elise Wiesnegger, Lily Wiesnegger, Ashlynde du Pont and Analeigh du Pont; stepson, John E.B. du Pont of Greenville, DE and his daughters Emily du Pont and Elizabeth du Pont.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
