GEORGETOWN -- Elaine N. Rogers of Georgetown, and formerly of Landenberg, Pa., died of complications due to a stroke Thursday, Nov. 20, 1997, in her home.
Mrs. Rogers was born in Landenberg, the daughter of John G. Newlin and Anna Kibler Newlin.
She graduated from Kennett High School in Kennett Square, Pa. She also attended West Chester State College and the Goldey Beacom College.
Mrs. Rogers was homemaker.
She had been an avid equestrian in Chester County, Pa., for over 30 years. Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Grace United Methodist of Georgetown and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Edward W. "Snooky" Rogers; three sons, Stephen E. Rogers of West Chester, Pa., John A. Rogers of Pike Creek and Mark Rogers of Newport; a daughter, Cynthia R. Haigh of Landenberg; a sister, Betty McVaugh of Stanton; and six grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Long Neck Road and Delaware 24, Long Neck.
Burial will be in the Union Cemetery, Georgetown.
