Notes for Naomi Mae CURRY
Naomi Mae Curry Hoopes, 92, of West Chester, died on Jan. 28, 2010.
Born on Aug. 27, 1917, in Reading, she was the daughter to the late Reuben and Naomi Mae Weirich Curry.
She was the wife to the late George W. Hoopes.
She is survived by her daughters, Marcia (Fred) Gasser of West Chester and Judith (Robert) Keziah of Tega Cay, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Melanie Marchetti of Simsbury, Conn., Fred Gasser, Jr. of West Chester, Donald Gasser of West Chester, Bradley Gasser of Spring City, Robert Keziah, Jr., Christopher Keziah, and Kelly Keziah; also by nine great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Howard Sherman Hoopes.
She graduated from Reading High School. Naomi was a "professional volunteer" with the Red Cross Blood Bank, dental clinic, Meals on Wheels and a Girl Scout leader and counselor.
Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She was an original occupant of Bellingham 19 years ago. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, embroidery, bingo, the Devon Horse Show, casino trips, rubber stamping, crafts, jigsaw puzzles, cross-word puzzles, Phillies, NASCAR, and game shows. She made name-tags for all Bellingham residents' walkers. Naomi was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in West Chester.
Interment will be held at Laureldale Cemetery.
