Notes for Walter Leedom DUTTON
Walter Leedom Dutton, 87, of Peabody, Mass., a former Delaware County resident, died Jan. 5 at Brooksby Village in Peabody.
Born in West Chester, Chester County, he grew up in Aston and was a former resident of Brookhaven, Warwick, R.I. and Andover, Mass. Mr. Dutton was a 1939 graduate of Ridley High School and a 1948 graduate of Pennsylvania State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Mr. Dutton was a founding partner of AST Inc. in Peabody, Mass., where he worked before his retirement. He was previously employed by Sealol Corp., Chesterton and Sun Oil Co.
An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Dutton served in the anti-aircraft division. He was son of the late C. Harold and Mary Ethel Leedom Dutton.
Survivors: Wife of 63 years, Mary “Nan” Dutton; sons, Alan J. Dutton of the Wallingford section of Nether Providence, Scott A. Dutton of Brookston, Ind.; one grandchild.
