Notes for Caroline Worth JACKSON
Caroline Jackson Reese, 82, of West Chester, passed away on Dec. 15, 2009, at Pocopson Home.
She was the daughter of the late T. Harold and Nancy Pennoyer Jackson.
Caroline was a student at the West Chester Friends School in her early years, and graduated from West Chester High School in 1945. She attended the Philadelphia Museum College of Art for two years.
She was a birthright Quaker and was a member of the West Chester Friends Meeting and a longtime member of the Chester County Art Association and Wilmington Art Association.
Caroline was a volunteer at Chester County Hospital. She worked at the hospital's Lenape Day at Lenape Park for several years.
She judged a close line art show for area schoolchildren and did charcoal portraits at this event. Her love for art was a lifelong hobby. She enjoyed doing watercolors of landscapes and flowers. She also enjoyed doing charcoal, pastel and acrylic portraits of children. She loved animals, birds and nature.
She is survived by two brothers, Thomas H. Jackson and Raymond P. Jackson; four daughters and their husbands, Nancy and Richard Putt, Carol and John Brunner, Dale and Steven Amway and Cynthia and Russell Losco; seven grandchildren, Simon Putt, David Brunner, Jeffrey Brunner, Christopher Taggart, Lauren Amway, Kelly Taggart and Stephanie Amway; and one great-granddaughter, Scarlet Putt.
Caroline will be remembered as a very loving mother and grandmother.
Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service at noon Monday, Dec. 21, at the West Chester Friends Meeting, 425 N. High St., West Chester.
