Notes for Sara Eliminia THOMAS
Sara "Sally" E. Cloud
Age 91, of Newark, DE, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2009, at her home with her son and daughter by her side.
Born in Rising Sun, MD, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Martha Armstrong Thomas. The family attended the Landenberg Methodist Church for many years. After graduating from Kennett High School she married her husband, Horace W. Cloud, Jr. who passed in June 2003 after sharing 67 years of marriage. She was a devoted wife, mother and active homemaker who enjoyed gardening, trips to the casinos, yard sales, NASCAR racing, and watching the Eagles and the Phillies. She also loved visiting with her grandson and his wife at their house along the Elk River searching for driftwood along the shore, attending "pig roasts" and eating crabs.
In addition to her husband, Sally was predeceased by her sisters, Blanche Needham of West Grove, PA and Grace Pugh of Landenberg, PA.
She is survived by her son, Horace P. Cloud and his wife Betty of Kennett Square, PA, her daughter, Sandra C. Rosenberger and her husband Jack of Lincoln University, PA, her grandson Jeffrey L. Cloud and his wife Mary of Chesapeake City, MD, and her beloved cat Petunia. Sally is also survived by many nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends especially, her nephew Jim and his wife Bernie Needham, her niece Mary and her husband Pete Judd, her special grand niece Amy, her great great grandson Ethan and her good friends Butch, Bryan and Ellie.
She will be remembered as a "sweet" lady to those who knew her. The family would like to thank all the wonderful doctors who cared for her over the years and Heartland Hospice Services who cared for her in her home the past few weeks especially her nursing assistant Sherry.
You are invited to visit with her family and friends from 10:00 to 11:00 on Thursday morning, December 10, 2009, at the KUZO & GRIECO FUNERAL HOME, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square, PA (Phone: 610-444-4116). A graveside service will follow at 11:30 at the Longwood Cemetery, 945 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square, PA.
