Donald Howard Sharpless, 73, of Upper Providence, a retired road master, died Sept. 26 at home.
Born in Media, Mr. Sharpless lived in the Media area all of his life. He attended the old Media High School. Mr. Sharpless was employed by Upper Providence Township for 34 years before his retirement in 1994.
He was a charter member of Rose Tree Fire Co. in Upper Providence. Mr. Sharpless enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking and making furniture. He was the widower of Joyce Louise Sharpless who died in 2008. Mr. Sharpless was the father of the late Donna Rickards and the brother of the late Charles Sharpless.
Survivors: Daughters, Karen King of Swedesboro, N.J., Bonnie Stafford of Unionville, Chester County; sister, Arlene Longley of Venice, Fla.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Service: 10 a.m. Friday at Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home, 15 E. 4th St., Media.
Visitation: 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial: Media Cemetery, Upper Providence.
