RICHARDSON ANNE WALN TAYLOR RICHARDSON On August 21, 2009 in her home in Old Town, Alexandria, VA Mrs. Richardson was born on August 5, 1923 in Philadelphia, PA. She was the daughter of Clement Newbold Taylor and Anne Walker Meirs. She attended the Shipley School and was a graduate of Vassar College, Class of 1944/45. She married Col. Robert C. Richardson, III, USAF on September 13, 1952. They settled in Old Town, Alexandria in 1958 and worked tirelessly to restore their historic home and to preserve Alexandria''s historic heritage. She was a master needlewoman who served on the Altar Guild of St. Paul''s Episcopal Church and was awarded first place at Woodlawn Plantation''s annual needlework exhibition for her set of needlepoint luggage. She was a founder of the Historic Alexandria Foundation Antiques Show and later a founding director and Director Emeritus of Antiques in Alexandria, a charity antiques show benefiting the TWIG, the Lyceum, and the Alexandria Association. Mrs. Richardson is survived by her husband, B/Gen. Robert C. Richardson, III, USAF (Ret.); her children, Newbold Richardson Smith of Alexandria, Robert C. Richardson, IV of Annapolis, MD, Lydia R. Cardin of Andover MA; step-daughter Penelope Nichols of Wolfeboro, NH and six grand children. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul''s Episcopal Church in Alexandria on September 12, 2009 at 2 p.m.
