Notes for Lewis Holston Jr. HENDRIXSON
Lewis H. Hendrixson, a retired engineer with the Bell Telephone Co., died Sunday. He was 83 and lived in the Franklintown section of Philadelphia.
A member of the Franklin and Marshall College Class of 1923, Hendrixson was a transmission engineer with Bell Telephone for more than 41 years.
He was a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers of America, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, the National Historic Society and the Smithsonian Institution, and for the past 50 years held membership in the Franklin Institute.
His wife, the former Dorothea L. Darlington Cope, died in 1982. He also was married to the former Edna Louise Wagner, who died in 1959.
He is survived by two sons, Louis H. 3rd and Stephen D. Cope; two daughters, Eleanor Hazzard and Jane Ibach; a sister, Ruth Ryder; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Another daughter, Janet E. Jewitt, predeceased him.
Services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at C.M. Toppitzer's Funeral Home,
Garrett Road and Lansdowne Avenue, Drexel Hill, Delaware County, where friends may call at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Valley Forge Gardens, Valley Forge.
