Notes for Samuel SHAKESPEARE
Samuel was the son of John Shakespeare and Jane Whitehead in Coventry, England. He married Susannah Mister on 28 Feb 1765 in St. Michael (Episcopal) Church, Coventry, England. He and his brother, David, were sentenced to transportation at London's Middlesex Quarter Sessions in August 1769 to embark on the ship "Douglas", Captain Wm. Brackenridge, sailing September 1769. He arrived in Philadelphia, but later moved to New Castle County, DE.
