Notes for Charles William Uriah YOUNG

"During the year 1857, Charles W. U. Young had 488 acres and buildings 20 miles northwest of the court house, so he did not occupy the 200 acres jointly owned with John and Thaddius. [sic]" [Who was on the 200 acres? In 1850, Thad was living w/ the Davis family in Mecklenburg Co., probably as a student, so Charles was there, possibly with John.]

"The Young family retained ownership through 1863. No land tax was recorded in 1864 and the property did not appear on the 1865 list."
