Notes for Elizabeth H. COPELAND

Elizabeth “Betty” C. Woodlen, 92, of Bellingham, died on Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, at Park Lane at Bellingham in East Goshen.
She was the wife of the late Milton C. Woodlen, who died in 2003.
Born in Westwood, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Mary Hope Copeland.
Betty had lived in Bellingham since 1994, and previously resided in Florida; Phoenix, Ariz.; New York, N.Y.; Edinboro; and Syracuse, N.Y., before moving to West Chester.
She was a founding mother and volunteer at the YWCA, a volunteer at crisis and hot lines in Florida and West Chester, as well as a volunteer at Bellingham.
She enjoyed reading, needlepoint, and writing her memories.
Betty is survived by four daughters, the Rev. Mary Elizabeth Hoskins of Lancaster, Jean Gilbert of Columbus, N.J., Anne Woodlen of Syracuse, N.Y., and the Rev. Ruth Hope Woodlen of Harrisburg; a son, Richard of Lakewood, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, George, Richard Jr. and James Copeland.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 6, in the auditorium at Bellingham Retirement Community, 1615 E. Boot Road, East Goshen.
