Notes for Daniel Henry ZITTLE
Daniel H. Zittle, 82, of Downingtown died Wednesday of natural causes at home.
He retired in 1980 as a foreman for PennDOT after 10 years. He previously worked for the former Downingtown Manufacturing Co. for 35 years.
He was a former member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Downingtown.
He was a life member of the Loyal Order of Moose No. 1153, Downingtown, where he attained the fellowship degree; Elks No. 854, West Chester; Minquas Fire Company, where he served as assistant chief; and Alert Fire Company.
He was a member of Keystone Fire Chiefs Association and a social member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Brandywine Post 845, Downingtown.
Born in Downingtown, he was the son of the late B. Frank and Mary Cunningham Zittle.
He was the husband of the late Alice M. Lobb Zittle.
Surviving are two sons, Richard E. and Daniel F. Sr., both of Downingtown; seven daughters, Marie I. Peazzoni of New Holland, Patricia L. Peterson of Stevens, Margaret P. Smith of Broomall, Ethel M. Beebe and Barbara A. Moore, both of Downingtown, and Dorothy M. Mest and Sharon E. Davidson, both of West Chester; 26 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two brothers, William S. and George, both of Downingtown; and two sisters, Pearl Miller of West Chester and Mary Rinier of Clearwater, Fla.
