HILLSBOROUGH -- Mrs. Marvel Maris Kennedy, 95, 202 Crawford Rd., died suddenly December 24 in Durham Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Kennedy was a native of Orange County and a lifetime member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday, December 28, at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church by the Rev. Tony Collier and the Rev. Ira Smith. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 7 to 9 PM Friday in Walker's Funeral Home.

Surviving are her sons, John Ronald Kennedy, of Whiteville, and Max Maris Kennedy, of Hillsborough; her sister, Anne E. Maris, of Durham; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
