Notes for Solomon Pusey CALDWELL
S. Pusey Caldwell
Age 84 of Orange City, FL, formerly of West Grove and Coatesville, PA, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2005, at his residence.
He was the husband of Mary Louise Moore Pusey with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Born in West Grove, PA, he was the son of the late J. Harold and Hannah Pusey Caldwell. A veteran, he served as an officer in Navy aviation in the Pacific area during WWII. He graduated from Lehigh University in 1943 as an industrial engineer and worked with Armstrong Cork Company, Ruth & Strong Consulting Engineers and Lukens Steel Company. He was the founder of Caldwell Temporary Services Company and Medicall (home health care service) in Wilmington, DE. A former member for 25 years of Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church in Parkesburg, PA, he was also an elder in Presbyterian Church, USA and a 16 year member of Peace Presbyterian Church, Stuart, FL. He was a Stephen Minister. He helped with Boy Scouts of America and was a Red Cross volunteer. He was a member and past president of Kiwanis Club of Wilmington, DE. He was past president of Lehigh University Class of 1943 Alumni. He was also a former member and owner in Cirrus Flying Club and Skyplane Airplane Club, Coatesville, PA.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Moore Caldwell of Orange City, FL; 3 children, John William Caldwell of West Chester, PA, Stephen Pusey Caldwell of Columbia, MD and Sarah Ann Lundy of Sierra Madre, CA; and 3 grandchildren, Thomas, Andrew and Allison Caldwell.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 1 pm on Monday, July 18, 2005, at Union Hill Cemetery, 424 North Union Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348.
