Notes for Robert K. FETTERS

Robert K. Fetters, 70, of Kennett Square, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, 2009.
He was the husband of Nancy Fetters.
Born in Upper Darby, he was the son of the late Walter and Ann Fetters.
Bob was a graduate of Friends Central and Cranwell Academy and studied at the University of Pennsylvania and Rensselaer Polytech. He was a veteran, who served in the Air Force during the 1960s.
He had a successful career in Sales and Marketing, first at IBM and then many years at Shared Medical Systems in Malvern. Professionally, his last few years were spent at Sev One in Newark, Del.
Bob always loved boating and for many years he was an avid competitive sailor and member of the Stone Harbor Yacht Club, as well as the Key Biscayne Yacht Club in Miami. Fla.
Later in life he developed a passion for horses and became a competitive carriage driver and enthusiastic supporter of combined driving competitions. He served on the board of the Pennsylvania Horse Breeders Association and Vitalize Consulting, a professional services firm specializing in Healthcare Information Technology.
Bob and his wife Nancy were long-time members of Willistown Friends meeting and last attended London Grove Friends Meeting. He was a generous and giving person who shared his love, talents and expertise with many. He loved animals of all kinds. He will be greatly missed by all who were beneficiaries of his love and guidance.
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by a son Robert K Fetters Jr. of Kennett Square, son and daughter-in- law Christopher and Ludmilla Fetters of Stuart, Fla., daughter and son-in-law Meredith Fetters and Lawrence Hart of Kennett Square; a brother, Richard Fetters of Coral Springs, Fla.; and a sister, Donna Pierson of Chadds Ford He is also survived by four grandchildren and 12 nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, at the West Chester Friends Meeting, 425 N. High St., West Chester.
