Notes for Frederick Irvin NAILE

He was a Lt Commander of the US Navy during the Civil War
He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1861 and was assigned to the U.S.S. frigate St Lawrence which was assigned blockade duty. He was present when they sank the Petrel.
He was wounded twice in 1863 while serving on the Oneida.
He was in command of the flagship Blackhawk and the Tempest.
He ended his naval duties as a Commander.
