Notes for Edward Leslie Jr. KOCHEY

Edward L. Kochey Jr., former patent attorney for Combustion Engineering, died Thursday at Charlotte-Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. He was 69.
Mr. Kochey was born in Abington, Pa., and was a resident of Colebrook for 38 years. He was a graduate of Drexel University and received his law degree from the University of Connecticut Law School.
He was employed as a patent attorney for Combustion Engineering, now ABB, for many years before retiring in 1987. For the past 10 years he was a consultant with UTC.
Mr. Kochey was treasurer of the Colebrook Historical Society and a member of the board of education and zoning board of appeals.

Edward L. Kochey Jr. 69 of Smith Hill Rd., Colebrook, died Thursday ( Dec. 31, 1998), at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. Born in Abington, PA, son of the late Edward L. and Mary (Hahn) Kochey, he lived in Colebrook 38 years. Ed graduated with a BS from Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA; received his BS from UCONN Law School, and had been a patent attorney with Combustion Engineering of Windsor, now ABB retiring in 1987. He had consulted with UTC the past ten years. He was a member of the Colebrook Congregational Church, the Sandy Brook Gin and Chowder Club, and was treasurer of the Colebrook Historical Society. He was a member of the Colebrook School Board and the Zoning Board of Appeals. He leaves his wife Judith (Coe) Kochey; two sons Christopher E. A. Kochey of San Jose, CA and Kurt E. Kochey of Colebrook; and a brother Frank K. Kochey of Sparta, NJ. A memorial service will be Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, 2 p.m. in the Colebrook Congregational Church, corner of RT 183 and Smith Hill Rd, Colebrook. Burial will be in the spring in South Cemetery, Colebrook.
