Notes for Annie Parker WADDELL
Annie Parker Waddell Grider, 91, of Lower Chichester, a retired laboratory technician, died May 2 in Richmond, Va.
Born in Chester, Mrs. Grider was a longtime resident of the Ogden section of Upper Chichester. She worked for many years as a lab technician at the Sun Oil Co. refinery’'s 14 Plant in Marcus Hook. Mrs. Grider was previously a hairdresser in Chester.
A member of the West Chester Chapter 352 of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mrs. Grider enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing bingo, playing the banjo and gardening. She was formerly a member of the Hen Club in her neighborhood and had been active with the Boy Scouts. Mrs. Grider was devoted to her family.
For 65 years she was married to John Raymond Grider Sr., who died in January. She was the daughter of the late Thomas P. and Margaret Cross Waddell and the sister of the late Mary L. Waddell Casto.
Survivors: Son, John "Jack" Grider, Jr., Ph.D, of Richmond; one grandchild, Amanda Lea Grider, who helped care for her.
Service: 10 a.m. Saturday, Moreland-Pagano Funeral Home, 825 Main St., Trainer.
Visitation: 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Aston.
