Notes for Richard LIPPINCOTT
Richard Lippincott, 101, formerly of Wynnewood, a retired investment counselor, died Oct. 8 at Waverly Heights, a retirement community in Gladwyne.
For almost 60 years, until retiring at 80, Mr. Lippincott was an investment counselor in Philadelphia. He continued to follow the stock market until his vision failed five years ago, his daughter Eleanor Murray said.
Mr. Lippincott graduated from William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia and earned a bachelor's degree from Swarthmore College. He was born in Riverton and lived there until 1954. He served on the Riverton Borough Council.
He was an amateur golf champion at the Riverton Country Club and an accomplished tennis player and skier. As a young man, he gave horseback tours of Yellowstone National Park. He was a Phillies and Eagles fan.
Mr. Lippincott was a member of Westfield Friends Meeting in Cinnaminson.
In addition to his daughter, he is survived by a son, Richard; another daughter, Ann; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his former wife, Mary Hart. His wife of 47 years, Angela Heckscher Lippincott, died in 2002.
