Notes for Rachel Pyle CLOUD
Rachel Pyle (Cloud) Lucas, 96 (9 weeks before her 97th Birthday), of West Chester, passed away on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013, surrounded by family. She was the wife of the late Charles E. Lucas, Jr., with whom she shared 54 years of marriage (married 8/15/1942) before he passed in 1996.
Born in Unionville, Rachel was the daughter of the late Pusey and Ida Hoopes Cloud. She graduated from Unionville Consolidated School and from a 2 year program at Drexel Institute of Technology. She was employed at The Automobile Club of Chester County (working with her husband).
She most importantly was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Rachel is survived by her children, William R. (Charlotte), Joan L. Gillis (Edward), Jeffrey A. (Paula) and Loraine C.; seven grandchildren Tracey (Gillis) Hooker, Kelley (Gillis) Perrupato, Ryan Gillis, Ben Lucas, Timothy Lucas, Brian Lucas and Brenda Lucas; four great grandchildren Garrett Lucas, Sierra Lucas, Maxwell Perrupato and Chase Perrupato (4 months old); and siblings, Margaret (Cloud) Elvin, G. Martin Cloud, Phil Cloud and Bruce Cloud.
Funeral Services held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Founds Funeral Home, Inc., 229 S. High St., West Chester. Viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, at the funeral home.
Interment at Longwood Cemetery.
