Notes for Jean MARSH
Jean Marsh Moore, 95, of Coatesville, died on Wednesday March 7, 2007 at Hickory House in Honey Brook. She was the wife of Oscar Moore with whom she shared 75 of marriage. Born in Gap, she was the daughter of the late James C. and Alta E. Skiles Marsh. Mrs. Moore was a 1930 graduate of Coatesville High School. She continued her education at Millersville University graduating in 1932. She was a school teacher for 33 years, with four years of teaching in Lancaster County and 29 and a half years of teaching in Coatesville, where she retired in 1977. Jean was a member of the Olivet Methodist Church in Coatesville and the Order of the Eastern Star, Chris-Penn Chapter #455 of Christiana. She is survived, in addition to her husband, by one son, Thomas J. Moore of Coatesville; two daughters, Jean Ann Lowery of Kankakee, Ill.; and Susan Jane Watkins, wife of William of Boothwyn; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Gerald "Bud" Marsh of Oak Island, N.C. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and William Marsh; and one sister, Betty Hoffecker. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 12, 2007 at 11 a.m. from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in the Bellevue Cemetery of Gap. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing, which will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. The Order of the Eastern Star will conduct their service at 10:45. Memorial donations may be made in Jean's name to the Olivet United Methodist Church, 310 East Chestnut Street, Coatesville, PA 19320.
