Notes for Samuel Harry WICKERSHAM

Samuel H. Wickersham Sr., husband of Edith Peirce Wickersham, Unionville, died this morning at the Chester County Hospital, West Chester, after a short illness. He was in his 75th year.

Born in Unionville, he was the son of the late George P. and Ella Pyle Jackson ... for many years he served as a member of the E. Marlboro School Board. He was graduated from the West Chester Normal School in 1905 and was president of his graduating class. Upon graduation, he taught and served as principal of Jarrettown School for one year.

Surviving besides his wife are: four sons and two daughters; George P., N. Hayes, William T., all of Unionville and Samuel H., Jr., of Kennett Square, Mary, wife of John B. Thompson, West Chester, and Sara W. Williams of Terrell, Texas.

Also surviving are three sisters, Annie R. W. Yoder, Richmond Hill, N.Y.; Jane W. Barnard, Kennett Square and Emma W. Barnard, wife of Earle Barnard, Newark, Del; and eight grandchildren.
