Notes for Mary Jane BATCHELDER
Mary Jane Holland VIRGINIA BEACH - Mary Jane Batchelder Holland, 84, went home to the Lord Dec. 17, 2008. She was born in Philadelphia to the late Winfield and Mildred Batchelder. Mary Jane was well-loved by all who knew her. She lived a remarkable and adventurous life, including working on the ration board during World War II, serving as vice president of the J. Henry Holland Corporation, volunteering in numerous school activities while her children were young and later traveling the world with her loving husband. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a special friend to all who knew her. She's survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, John Henry Holland Jr. She's also survived by her younger brother, Robert Batchelder; her two children, Barbara Ann Holland Stephens and John Henry Holland III; son-in-law, Clyde D. Stephens and daughter-in-law, Anita Holland; grandchildren, Robert Stephens, Christopher Stephens, John Henry Holland IV and Alana Holland; great-grandchildren, Cassidy Stephens and Carissa Stephens. She leaves behind many wonderful nieces and nephews and special friends, including Robin Williams. A funeral will be conducted Saturday at noon in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, with the Rev. Anita Killebrew of Great Bridge Presbyterian Church, Chesapeake, officiating. The burial will follow in Princess Anne Memorial Park.
