Notes for Mary Jean MUIR

Mary Muir Price, formerly of West Chester Mary Muir Price, 74, of New Holland and formerly of West Chester, died Thursday, May 7, 2015, at her home in Garden Spot Village after a long illness. Mary was the wife of Philip Price Jr., with whom she shared 53 years of marriage. Born in York, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Robert Muir and Hazel Root Muir. After graduating in 1958 from Palmyra High School in N.J., she attended Bucknell University for two years and finished her schooling at Worcester Business School. Mrs. Price lived in West Chester for 24 years. In 1986, she moved to State College for 18 years before moving to Garden Spot Retirement Village 11 years ago. Mary was a member of the Goshen Baptist Church in West Chester, where she was involved in the Youth Ministry Program and held many Bible Studies and programs for students at her home. She was a passionate, active fan of her three children and thirteen grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, needlework, bridge club, and traveling with her family. In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by a son, Philip Price III, husband of Elayne Nelson, of Geneva, Ill.; a daughter, Jean Marie, wife of David Stratton, of Smethport; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth, wife of Sean Ellsworth of West Chester; and 13 grandchildren. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 15th, in the Chapel at Garden Spot Village, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, PA 17557, with Chaplain Chet Yoder officiating. Interment will be private in the Birmingham-Lafayette Cemetery.
