Notes for Carey Lucille HOBBS
Carey Lucille (Hobbs) Lukens of North Wales, died March 14, 2009, at Maplewood Estates in Harleysville. She was the wife of 68 years to Paul DeHaven Lukens, who preceded her in death in 2007.
Born in Mooresville, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late William Logan and Edith Mayhew Hobbs.
She is survived by three sons, Gary and wife Carole, Jeffrey and wife Lee, and Rande and wife Lynda; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters; Miriam Cooke, Betty Nesbit, and Becky Bell; brother-in-law, Richard Bell; and sister-in-law, Marcelle Lukens.
Mrs. Lukens was preceded in death by one son, Ronald D. Lukens in 2000.
She was a long time member of Sanctuary United Methodist Church and a former member of the Christmas Caravan decorating committee in which she utilized her many artistic talents. Mrs. Lukens enjoyed maintaining the farm by her husbands side, where they resided for nearly fifty years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for Mrs. Lukens will be held in the chapel in Peter Becker Community, Harleysville, Thursday April 2, 2009 at 7:00PM. The family will begin receiving friends at 6:30PM. The family desires that memorial contributions may be made to North Penn Hospice, 51 Medical Campus Drive, Lansdale, PA 19446.
