Notes for Paul DeHaven LUKENS
Paul DeHaven Lukens, 91, a lifelong resident of the North Wales area, died Friday, July 6, 2007 in Maple Wood Estates. He was the husband of Carey Hobbs Lukens, who he was married to for 68 years.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late A. Walter and Mabel (Merkley) Lukens. He served in World War II as a staff sergeant in the European Theatre.
He was employed by Nyleve Bridge Corporation until his retirement.
Mr. Lukens was a lifelong member of Sanctuary United Methodist Church.
He was an avid golfer and skilled wood worker. He most enjoyed driving his tractor mowing his lawn.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Gary D. of North Wales and Jeffrey H. and Rande P., both of Harleysville; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald D. Lukens.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 24 in the Peter Becker Community Chapel, 800 Maple Ave., Harleysville. Memorial contributions may be made to North Penn Hospice, 51 Medical Campus Drive, Lansdale, PA 19446.
