SWAYNE - Betty Marie Fairbank, 84, of Crosslands, Kennett Square, PA, died on Tuesday, May 23, 2000. She was the widow of John B. Swayne Jr, former President and owner of J. B. Swayne & Son, Kennett Square, PA, who died in May of 1998. Born in Akron, OH, she was a daughter of the late Lewis George Fairbank and Elsie Techmeyer Fairbank. Mrs. Swayne resided most of her adult life in Kennett Square, PA and had retired to Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Buck Hill Falls, PA. She had attended the Kennett Friends Meeting and was actively involved with the Spade and Trowel Garden Club. She had attended the Connecticut College For Women. Mrs. Swayne was a member of the Kennett Square Golf and Country Club, Wilmington Country Club and the Ft. Lauderdale Yacht Club. Survivors include three sons, John B. Swayne III of Unionville, PA, Lewis F. Swayne of West Chester, PA, Robert B. Swayne of Dana Point, CA; seven grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service 10 AM onWednesday, May 31, 2000 at Crosslands, Rt. 926, Kennett Square, PA. Interment will be private.
