David was an ordained Presbyterian minister and an MD. He received his medical training at Temple University in Philadelphia. He had a urology practice in Philadelphia. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Chester, Nova Scotia. He volunteered in missions work for the Baptist churches in Canada.
