Notes for Arthur Brock Jr. SINKLER
Arthur Brock Sinkler Jr., 60, a Lancaster native and former president of the Georgia Association of Securities Dealers, died Wednesday in his Atlanta office.
Sinkler, 60, lived at 3014-A Spring Hill Parkway, Symrna, Ga.
The Gwinett County medical examiner's office determined that he died of natural causes.
He and his wife, Sally Beattie Sinkler, were married 36 years in November.
A 1955 graduate of Lancaster Country Day School, Sinkler graduated in 1959 from the University of Virginia, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity.
Following college, he worked for Merrill Lynch in Washington, D.C.
A veteran, he served with the U.S. Army Reserves.
A call to active duty during the Berlin Wall crisis sent him to an Army base in Georgia. When the crisis passed, he rejoined Merrill Lynch in Atlanta.
Later, he was manager of the Atlanta office of the former Eastman Dillon Company. At the time of his death, he worked for C.I.R. Realty, Atlanta.
He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Atlanta.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Arthur B. and Elizabeth Clark Sinkler.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Catherine Sinkler Cotsakis of Atlanta; three sons, Arthur Brock III and Scott Conway, both of Atlanta, and Clark Beattie of Greensboro, N.C.; three grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor of Tunbridge, Vt.; and a brother, George of Ambler.
