Notes for Catherine Keppelle BIDDLE
Catharine Keppele Biddle was born on February 1, 1831. She married William P. Tathain, a prominent and successful man in commercial affairs, and one who was gifted mentally. He was deeply interested in science and did all in his power to advance research. He numbered among his personal friends such men as Lord Kelvin. In recognition of his abilities he was elected president of the Franklin Institute, and during his administration the high prestige of the Institute was maintained
