Notes for Thomas A. HESFORD

Thomas A. Hesford, 62, of Mifflintown, died Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at his home. He was the husband of Connie Schwanger Hesford, to whom he was married 37 years.
Born November 1942 in Altoona, he was a son of the late Arthur and Nellie Hesford. He was an Army veteran, retiring after 23 years of service. He worked as a printer in Lancaster at Intelligencer Printing Co. and Wagaman Brothers. He also worked as a milkman for Wengert and Harrisburg dairies in Lebanon and at Royal Dairy in Lewistown. He most recently worked for Veterans Affairs as a caretaker at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. He was a member of Lower Tuscarora Presbyterian Church in Academia, Union Lodge 324 F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory and Mifflintown American Legion. He was an accomplished horseman.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters Linda, wife of John MacLeod of Jacksonville, Fla., and Geri, wife of Peter Mason, and Christie Hesford, both of Mifflintown; and five grandchildren.
His funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with a viewing at 1, and a Masonic memorial service conducted by the Union Lodge prior to the funeral. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, with military honors by the 28th Aviation Brigade.
