RIDGE CREST Exum Collett Davis Jr., 84, died Friday, March 17, 2000, at Mt. Ridge Wellness Center in Ridge Crest.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington, N.C., officiated by the Rev. Shirley McWhorter.
Mr. Davis was born in Chapel Hill to the late Exum C. Davis Sr. and Irene Barbee Davis. He was a graduate of Washington & Lee University, obtaining a degree in journalism. Mr. Davis was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, being discharged as a First Lieutenant. He later was the owner and operator of Exum Davis & Son Company, with which he was a journalist in photography and audio visual. Mr. Davis was a member of the Episcopal Church where he was a member of the men's choir and an acolyte. He was also a member of the Ormond Beach Civitan Club.
Survivors include one son, Exum Marion Davis of Charlotte.
