Notes for Nathan James COPE

NATHAN JAMES COPE SR., 75, of Deptford Township, died Tuesday at Underwood- Memorial Hospital, Woodbury.

Mr. Cope had lived in Deptford Township since 1957. Active with the South Jersey Boy Scouts, he served on the district council, was a member of the Order of the Arrow and received the Silver Beaver Award. He retired in 1977 from Boeing-Vertol of Morton, Delaware County, where he was an aircraft logistics engineer. He belonged to the South Jersey chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, the East Penn Traction and the Buckingham Valley Trolley Association. He was an usher at Wenonah United Methodist Church.

Survivors: his wife, Margaret B. Williams Cope; three sons, Nathan James Jr. at home; Robert W. of West Berlin, Germany, and George E. of Chambersburg, Pa.; five grandchildren, and two brothers, Walter E. of Newtown Square and Oliver K. of Philadelphia.

Services: viewing, 7 to 9 p.m. today, Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Mantua; funeral, 11 a.m. tomorrow at the funeral home; burial, Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hurffville.
