Joseph Leaming Bonsall, 96,
Former longtime Marple resident Joseph Leaming Bonsall, 96, of Media and a former longtime resident of the Broomall section of Marple, died Sept. 7 at Riddle Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Yeadon, the son of the late John Lawrence Bonsall and Jane Leaming. Mr. Bonsall was the former manager of the Springfield Water Co., which became part of Aqua Pennsylvania, and was also employed by Baldwin Locomotive. He was a graduate of Upper Darby High School and was a member of Marple Presbyterian Church in Broomall.
Mr. Bonsall was a Boy Scout troop leader. He formerly attended Yeadon Presbyterian Church and was a member of the National Rifle Association. He loved to hunt small game. He loved the mountains of Pennsylvania and Maine. He also enjoyed oil painting, especially his hunting experiences.
He was the widower of Dorothy Haupt Bonsall, who died in 2004.
Survivors: Nieces; nephews.
Service: 11 a.m. Friday, Frank C. Videon Funeral Home, 2001 Sproul Road, Broomall.
Visitation: 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial: Cumberland Cemetery, Middletown.
