Notes for Clayton Gilbert DIXON
"C. Dixon, Golfer, Dies": Clayton Gilbert Dixon, a widely known golfer and clubman, died Tuesday at his home, 1900 Rittenhouse Square. He was 78. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania in 1900, he was captain of the university's first golf team and honorary member of the Racquet Club. He was a champion golfer, skeet shooter and yachtsman. He was a former estate manager and secretary-treasurer of the West Shenandoah Land Co. and Turkey Run Fuel, Inc., and assistant secretary-treasurer of Gilberton-Lawrence Fuels, Inc. He is survived by a son, Gilbert W.; a daughter, Mrs. Edgar R. Owen, and five grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:30 P.M. tomorrow at Oliver H. Bair's, 1820 Chestnut St.
