Emory, Campbell Dallas, c. 1840 born in Pennsylvania; May 6, 1861 graduated from West Point (38/45) and appointed 2nd Lt., 6th U. S. Infantry Rgt. May 25, 1861 transferred to the 9th U. S. Infantry Rgt. June 25, 1861 1st Lt. 1861-1864 at San Francisco, Calif. July 21, 1862-Dec. 29, 1863 regimental adjutant; Dec. 29, 1863 Capt. 1864-1869 aide de camp to Maj Gen. G. G. Meade; April 2, 1865 brevet Maj., U. S. Army for Petersburg, Va. April 9, 1865 brevet Lt Col., U. S. Army for war service; 1869 frontier duty in Texas; 1871-1872 aide de camp to Maj Gen. G. G. Meade; 1873-1878 at San Francisco; March 11, 1878 died of a heart condition.
