Notes for Florence DUMONT
BYE, FLORENCE D., (NEE DUMONT) 91 - of Northfield, passed away in her home on Tuesday, May 27, 2008. Florence was born in Egg Harbor City and was a life long resident of Southern New Jersey. She was employed by N.J. Bell as a switchboard operator and later a supervisor for almost 20 years. In later years, she worked for the Atlantic City and Northfield public school systems. While raising her two sons in Venice Park, Florence enjoyed playing softball in a mother's league, was a den mother, and active in the V.P.Y.O. as well as school P.T.A. Throughout her life, Florence loved to entertain and spend time with her many close friends. She nursed and cared for many of her family and friends in need. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her well. She was predeceased by her beloved husband David (1997) and her brother Charles F. DuMont (1939). She is survived by her two sons; Allen Bye and his wife LeeAnne of Northfield, Kirk Bye and his wife Ruth of Egg Harbor Township, and six grandchildren; Lauren, Kyle, Amanda, Matthew, Bret, and Samantha. Relatives and friends are invited to attend viewings which will be held Friday evening from 6-8pm and Saturday morning at 10:00 am at the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home, 1707 New Road, Linwood where Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 11:00 am. Interment at Laurel Memorial Park, Pomona. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions to The Oley Foundation, 214 Hun Memorial, Albany Medical Center, MC-28, Albany, NY 12208, that supports her granddaughter who depends on I.V. artificial nutrition.
