Notes for Isaac Worstall HICKS
Was the only son born to American Folk artist Edward Hicks and his wife Sarah Worstall. Raised in Newtown. Apprentice to his father with his coach painting business and farming. Took up farming full time after father’s death. Helped make Newtown a Borough in 1838. Lived nearly his entire life at 112 Penn Street, Newtown.
Married Hannah L. Penrose of Horsham, PA on June 4, 1857 .
Children: Sarah W., Edward P, and William Penrose.
