Notes for Edward Morris LANE
Edward Lane was a well known carriage maker, Edward Lane & Co., in the city of Philadelphia. Source: The U.S. Census records list him as a carriage or coach maker as does his death certificate. His brother Davis Morton Lane (Memorial No. 80024564) also had a carriage building business with his sons called D.M.Lane & Sons.
In the year 1865 he was granted a patent by the 39th Congress, House of Representatives, Ex. Doc. No. 52, Volume II as listed in their Annual Report of the Commissioner Of Patents For The Year 1865.
