Notes for Anthony Deaves LEVERING

Moved with parents to Wapakoneta, Ohio in 1834. After 2nd wife died, returned to Roxborough, Pennsylvania in 1848 where he married again. In 1851 he was elected a Deacon of the Roxborough Baptist Church, which office he held until his decease. In 1872-3 he was a member of the State Legislature of Pennsylvania. He was for many years engaged in the lumber business on the Schuylkill River, below Manayunk. Failing Health compelled him to retire from business. He died in Cresco, Monroe, PA where he had gone hoping for benefit of mountain air.
