Hemphill, John Mickle (b. 1891) — of West Chester, Chester County, Pa. Born in West Chester, Chester County, Pa., September 6, 1891. Son of Elijah Dallett Hemphill b: 1845 and Rebecca (Mickle) Hemphill b: 1848; married to Ann Price b: 1893. Democrat. Lawyer; served in the U.S. Army during World War I; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Pennsylvania, 1928; candidate for Governor of Pennsylvania, 1930; delegate to Pennsylvania convention to ratify 21st amendment, 1933. Member, American Bar Association.
