Notes for George Huston Jr. MORRISON

George Morrison was born in Spotsylvania County, VA on the family farm known as Hazelwild. He moved to Glendale, CA when he was 19. During WWII he was a Lieutenant in the Air Force and was a navigator on a B-24 "Liberator" bomber and was based on Tonopah Air Force Base in Nevada. After the war, he worked for the City of Los Angeles - Survey Division for 30 years from 1948 to 1978. He worked his way up from chainman to gunner to party chief to supervisor. In the early 1960s, he was a member of the survey team that laid out the roads into Chavez Ravine - Dodger Stadium. He went on to earn his California State Land Surveyor's License. He was the loving husband of Lorraine Sheehan Morrison who is also buried in the San Fernando Mission Cemetery. George and Lorraine resided in Burbank, CA for over 57 years in the same home. They had 4 children.

George was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. His patriot ancestor was his 2nd great grandfather Hugh Huston who was a private soldier in Delaware in the Revolutionary War.
