Notes for Daniel HARRISON

Biography from the American Architects and Buildings database
The master builder Daniel Harrison was the son of John I and Mary Harrison and the brother of Joseph and John II. Too young to have been involved with the two Lutheran Churches with his father and brothers (1698-99), Daniel did continue his family's long association with Christ Church. The records of his work there begin in 1726 and continue through 1740. In April of 1731, for example, he was paid nearly sixty pounds for "Building The Gallery," and the following year "for Altering the Pews removing the Pulpit," and in 1733 "for Flooring the Belfrey" and "Shingling Steeple." There is no record that Daniel Harrison was ever a member of The Carpenters' Company.
