Mendenhall, Joseph Abraham (b. 1920) — also known as Joseph A. Mendenhall — of Virginia. Born in Blue Ball, Cecil County, Md., January 15, 1920. Served in the U.S. Army during World War II; Foreign Service officer; U.S. Ambassador to Malagasy Republic, 1972-75. Still living as of 1997.
