Notes for David Brainerd UPDEGRAFF

David Brainerd Updegraff (1830-1894) was one of the most prominent Quaker
ministers of the nineteenth century, and one of the most controversial. He
was a leader in the movement that brought revivals, pastors, and other
innovations to large parts of Quakerism. There have been two biographies
of him published, one in 1895 by Dougan Clark and Joseph H. Smith, the
other in 1982 by Brent Bill.
