Notes for Nancy FIELDS
Nancy Fields Sellers Nancy Fields Sellers died peacefully on October 7, 2014, with family at her side in Newport Beach, California. Born on November 13, 1926, in Philadelphia, Nancy was a lifelong resident of the Main Line and for the last 45 years lived in Wayne. She grew up in Rosemont and attended Lower Merion High School and The Friends Select School. Nancy was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania in the Class of 1949 and a Phi Beta Kappa in European History. Her father, Roland Fields, attended the University of Pennsylvania's School of Architecture and spent his career with Wallace and Warner Corp. (later Wallace Construction) designing homes on the Main Line. Her mother, Mabel Wiman Fields, was a teacher and traveled to maintain close ties with family in Sweden. After college, Nancy worked as an executive assistant at The Episcopal School and The Sun Oil Corporation. She married William W. Sellers on October 9, 1954. Bill was also both a lifelong resident of the Main Line and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. He was president of The Sellers Company, Inc., a manufacturing company servicing the asphalt pavement industry and located in King of Prussia. Bill passed away in 2006. Nancy had many interests, including bridge, gardening, and volunteer work. Her willingness to volunteer took her to the Church of the Redeemer, Waynesboro, and the Shipley and Haverford schools where she was always willing to pitch in. She maintained a lifelong interest in History and was a member of the Merion Cricket Club, the Acorn Club, and Martin's Dam. Nancy is survived by her children, Sally Sellers Costanzo of Laguna Beach, California, and Coleman Sellers, of Centreville, Maryland and their families, including eight grandchildren, as well as her sister, Carolyn Fields Wehner, of Houston, Texas, and her family. Nancy's kindness, generosity, grace, intellect, beauty, and soft-spoken wit will be remembered and missed by all.
