Notes for Sally H. MACLEOD
A memorial has been set for 11 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at the Federated Church of Sandwich, 16 Church St., Center Sandwich, N.H., for Sally MacLeod Biddle, 93, a former Republican official in Bucks County.
Mrs. Biddle, 93, died of a stroke Friday, Feb. 26, at Gilchrist Hospice, Baltimore.
In April 1966, she was named vice chairman of the Republican primary campaign committee. Before that, she served eight years on the board of directors of the Philadelphia Junior League and was legislative chairman for all Pennsylvania leagues for four years.
She was a Republican committeeman from Upper Makefield for 10 years and a board member of the Bucks County Council of Republican Women for 12 years.
Mrs. Biddle, who was born in Westwood, Mass., grew up in Berwyn and graduated in 1933 from the Agnes Irwin School.
A daughter, Holly, said Mrs. Biddle was a president for the League of Women Voters and Historic Fallsington in Bucks County, helped restore historic Bolton Mansion in Levittown, and was a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames.
Besides her daughter Holly, Mrs. Biddle is survived by her husband of 71 years, Robert 3d; a son, Robert 4th; a daughter, Cynthia Heller; two sisters; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A son, William, died in 1981.
